In 2018 the store was purchased by long time employee...
Kenneth Nankervis ("the wine guy")
..although changes will take place please keep in mind we are only trying to
make your experience better while expanding the access of the store.
We look forward to serving you for many years to come.
Former owner Michael DeFrancisci has passed the store on and is now officially retired.
His grandfather (Mariano DeFrancisci) and great uncle (Antonio Litteri) founded the business in
1926 at Sixth and G streets N.W. and moved in 1932 to its present location, 517 Morse street N.E.
In the past most of the warehouses in the Capital (now Union) Market area have housed wholesale businesses, that has continued to change over the years.
